Scanning the WireGuard QR Code on iPhone or Android
Introduction
After you pick a city in WireGuard Configuration, the Client Area requests a QR image for that exact config. Point the official WireGuard app at it. No file transfer needed.
On the computer
- Log into the Client Area on a laptop or a second phone’s browser.
- Open the VPN product > WireGuard Configuration.
- Select a city in Select Your WireGuard Config Choice.
- Leave the QR code on screen (200px image under the dropdown).
On iPhone or iPad
- Install WireGuard from the App Store.
- Open WireGuard > Add a tunnel > Create from QR code.
- Scan the Client Area QR. Allow VPN when iOS asks.
- Toggle the tunnel on. Check vpnsafe.net/whats-my-ip.
On Android
- Install WireGuard from Play Store, or use the VPN Safe Android app if you do not need a manual config.
- Official app: + > Scan from QR code > scan the Client Area QR > allow the VPN permission > enable the switch.
If QR generation fails, the page alerts Failed to generate QR. Pick the city again, disable ad blockers on the Client Area, or use Download Config / Download All (ZIP) and import the file instead.
The VPN Safe Android / Windows / TV apps do not need this QR — they log in with username and password. QR is for the official WireGuard client and for routers that can scan.
