Why the free trial requires an email, a password, and verification

Introduction

The 24 Hour Free Trial is a real VPN service: a username, a password, and access to the same servers as a paid plan, for 24 hours. Because there is no payment, we ask for an email address, a password, and a click on the verification email before the trial is set up.

That step keeps the trial available for people who want to try VPN Safe, and stops the same person from opening trial after trial.

Why we ask for an email

The email is the account. It is how you sign in to the Client Area, how we send the verification link, and how password reset works if you forget the password later.

Each customer can take the free trial once. An address we can actually reach is what lets us apply that limit. Addresses that are disposable, or that hide extra signups behind a plus sign (such as [email protected]), are not accepted at checkout.

Why we ask for a password

The password protects the Client Area, where your trial username, VPN password, and config downloads live. It is separate from the VPN username and password the apps use to connect.

Without it, anyone who knew the email could open the account and use the trial.

Why we send a verification email

Verification confirms that you can read mail at the address you entered. The trial is not created until you open that message and click the link. The link is valid for 60 minutes. If it expires, the page offers Send new verification email.

We do this so the trial cannot be started from an inbox nobody controls. Unverified signups are the usual way a free offer is used up by repeated or automated accounts. Holding the trial until the link is clicked keeps capacity for genuine customers and keeps the service working for everyone on it.

What you need to do

  1. Start the trial at vpnsafe.net/free with your email and a password.
  2. Open the message from VPN Safe and click the verification link.
  3. Sign in to the Client Area with that same email and password.
  4. Open 24 Hour Free Trial and follow 24-Hour Trial in the Client Area.

Paid accounts that sign in with a 16-digit account number do not use this email-and-password trial path. The free trial always uses the email and password you chose, and the verification email.

If the verification message does not arrive, check spam, then use Send new verification email on the expired-link page. You can also write to [email protected].
